2007 -2008 National Rule Changes

1. Designate new Championship Divisions beginning in 2008.

New Divisions:
8/u- Born no earlier than July 1, 1998
9/u- Born no earlier than July 1, 1997
10/u- Born no earlier than July 1, 1996
11/u- Born no earlier than July 1, 1995
12/u- Born no earlier than July 1, 1994
13/u- Born no earlier than July 1, 1993
14/u- Born no earlier than July 1, 1992
15/u - Born no earlier than July 1, 1991
16/u- Born no earlier than July 1, 1990
Open- Born no earlier than July 1, 1988

2. Game times: Make all game slots one hour and thirty minutes.

3. Game length:
Open & J.O. Games– 20 minute Halves
14, 15 & Jr. – 18 minute Halves
11, 12, & 13 – 16 minute Halves
9 & 10 – 7 minute Quarters
8 – 6 minute Quarters

4. 9/u Change: Use the 27.5” Ball and move the foul line to 12’ (Same as 8/u).

5. Roster Change: Once a team qualifies for a National Tournament, the athletes on their roster cannot play for another team in a National Championship unless they are released (pending National By-Law change) or her team declines the bid and does not attend Nationals, she then may be picked up by a team that is attending from her district or an adjoining District.

6. Rename Tournaments:
9/u to the Ruthie Webster 9/u National Championship
Jr. Girls to the Ann and Bill Tipps Jr. Girls National Championship

2006-2007 National Rule Changes

1. Reduce warm-up times from 15 to 10 minutes and half time from 10 to 8 minutes

2. Rename 16/u Division to "The junior Division"; the 18/u division to "The Senior Division" and the 19/u to the "Open Division".

3. National Championship Division II - increase number of "pick ups" allowed from three (3) to five (5).

4. Once a team qualifies for a National tournament, the athlete on their roster cannot play for another team in the National Championship. If her team declines the bid and does not attend Nationals, she may be picked up by a team that is attending from her District or adjoining District.
